5 years into this generation... are there any games that would be pretty much impossible on last-gen hardware? | ResetEra

Top Comment: Title says it all, I believe. Can you think of a single game that, without some graphical compromises, would straight up not be really feasible on last-gen hardware? Because I'm thinking that we had massive and detailed open worlds, destruction tech, multiplayer games with 100+ players, games...

What's your favorite board game to play in bed after a long day?

Main Post:

My wife and I love to play board games. Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, 7 Wonders (and Duel,) Dominion, and Azul have been some favorites that we both enjoy.

We've got kids though that are 1, 3 and 5 -- and at the end of the day we're pretty exhausted, but are getting tired of watching TV until we fall asleep.

What are your favorite games that are 2 player, fairly quick to set up, and that require maybe 1 x 2 feet of table space?

Top Comment: Twister, with the wife.

Cozy bedtime games - video games - insert credit

Main Post: Cozy bedtime games - video games - insert credit

Top Comment: I need some cozy bedtime games, i have about 13,000 hours in hearthstone (been playing since closed beta) and I have played my way through enough stardew valley. I also recently beat a majority of Binding of Isaac Repentance too but realised that game is a lil too stressful for a good nights ...

Best chill games for some before bed gaming?

Main Post:

I like to relax before bed with some play time on my deck while laying in bed. I'm looking for something I can hop into for a couple rounds or like 15-20 minutes of or so while I get tired.

I know people are going to suggest Stardew, so let me say this. I already play a ton of Stardew (186 hours in the game so far in the two and a half years I've been playing it), and don't want to make a new farm rn. My girlfriend and I are currently playing the game, so I don't have much interest in making a single player farm ATM.

Since it's a cozy game I'm asking for, I doubt this will matter, but I specifically do NOT want like an FPS or a JRPG or a high stakes fighting game or anything like that. Just something chill and cozy to go with bedtime vibes.

What games to play from bed?

Main Post:

Hi guys!

I recently got a plenty of free time cause i broke my leg yesterday so ive ordered a wireless keyboard and ive got a wireless mouse too.

Can you suggest some good games to play while lying in bed?

Thanks for the answers!

Anything turn-based or not needing a lot of precision seems to be the way to go.

Solasta, Divinity Original Sin 2 and Wasteland 3 for turn-based RPGs,

Civ 5 as someone else mentioned or Age of Wonders 3 for turn-based strategy (age of wonders has more tactical combat similar to the old Heroes of Might & Magic games)

Slay the Spire and Ring of Pain for turn-based card battler roguelikes

Thronebreaker and Griftlands for turn-based card battlers with a story

Favorite game to play in bed before sleepytime?

Main Post:

I play Civ 5 a lot because it asks very little of me, and maybe also because I can eat cereal while I play it. What's your winding down game?

Top Comment:

How do you manage to not “one more turn” for four hours straight if Civ V is your wind down game?

For me, I have to be ready to devote the next five hours to finishing a game.

What’s your before you go to bed game suggestion?

Main Post:

Games like RDR2, Hitman 3 and GTA V are all pretty intensive loading and time investments to get up and running.

What’s your go to, it’s running and easy to put down? Mine is Doom 2.

Top Comment:

(Genuine warm humor) I also think setting yourself up for restful sleep with Hitman, GTA, or Doom is a funny concept.

I do low stakes tasks in turn based games (Pokemon) or exploration tasks (Zelda non-dungeon stuff).

Best games to lay in bed and play

Main Post:

Hey guys! So I had surgery just under a week ago and am still feeling quite under the weather and as such I haven’t really been in the mood to play my normal games (fifa, rocket league). I’m looking for a game and I can just lay in bed after taking a bong rip and play that doesn’t require an awful lot of attention etc. I primarily play on my PS4 but I also have a switch

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Top Comment:

Slay the Spire. It's on Switch and Android now too.

Games to play in bed

Main Post:

Hi guys, I have a normal gaming PC for the heavier titles, but I also have a big Steam and GOG library that I might just want to play in bed before sleep. My laptop is: i5-6200U, 8GB RAM, GeForce 940MX.

I want to play in bed and probably without use of mouse, or rather with slow movement (or turns).

My main focus are RPGs, Point and Clicks and Strategy games (that I just want to get into).

Please suggest some titles that could be played in bed on this laptop :)

Top Comment:

I can recommend Darkest Dungeon & Slay the Spire .
